How does Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy compare with Reiki?

There are both similarities and differences between Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy and Reiki. Here is some information for the curious. We hope it is helpful.

Similar Intentions

The intention of Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy is to provide healing and wellness to those who receive it. Most all Reiki practitioners also share this intention.

VHMT Combines Structural Bodywork with Energy Techniques

Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy combines both deep structural bodywork with subtle energy techniques to unlock the most intricate of stored cellular shock and trauma. VHMT also includes empathic therapeutic energetic touch and the understanding of quantum healing over distance (quantum mechanics) such as clearing energetic “blockages” to the Chakras and aura.

VHMT Focuses on Self-Healing Exclusively

We think it is very important to consider that whereas Reiki teaches the practitioner to use intention to project symbol codes into another’s energy fields, Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy trains the practitioner to facilitate the client’s use of his/her own energy exclusively.

Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy aims at empowering others to heal themselves and find answers within rather than look outside themselves.

Why is this important? No thoughtful or ethical “healer” wants to facilitate clients becoming dependent upon us. We all want our clients to see themselves or their higher selves as the source of their power to heal.

When our egos attach to “healing” or fixing others rather than facilitating our clients ability to heal themselves, we can inadvertently set up resistance patterns which create client dependency upon us rather than upon their own power. We are not criticizing Reiki practitioners here. What we are saying is that Reiki is taught in many ways by many teachers and it appears that some teachers could be more concerned with this issue than they have been. What VHMT attempts to stress is that as potential authorities within our clients lives, it’s imperative that we keep very clear and clean boundaries in this matter. This is especially critical because so many of us in the healing arts have our own emotional wounds and it is far too easy for our egos to become attracted to fostering dependency relationships.
