Specializations in Therapeutic Yoga Applications, Ayurveda, Integral Therapies & Special Populations (prenatal, kids, seniors, safety practices, and more)

- Multi-purpose program design: For students who want to deepen and intensify their own Yoga practice, as well as those who wish to become Yoga teachers themselves.
- At completion of program you can register with Yoga Alliance at the RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) level, an internationally recognized industry standard.
- An opportunity to deepen your inner connection to Self through Yoga and meditation practices, while living the yogic lifestyle and experiencing its community.
- Learn to sustain and share a concentrated yoga practice; a sadhana incorporating the benefits of a relaxed body, calm mind, and life in balance. Asana, pranayama, meditation – reach yourself and your students with the combination and emphasis that is most effective.
Course Overview
- In-depth study of Hatha Yoga postures (asanas) and teaching methodology
- Overview of Yoga history and philosophy from ancient times & classical teachings (including the 8 Limbs, 4 Paths, Yoga Sutras, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Vedic (dualism) and non-dualistic traditions) up to 21st century applications and modern day schools of Yoga
- Intro to Ayurvedic principles: history, doshas, gunas, diet, creating balance, and asana in ayurveda
- Meditation practices and guided visualization; techniques and teaching
- Pranayama Breathing Practices – benefits, techniques and how to incorporate in teaching
- Yoga Anatomy, Physiology & Psychology, harmonious bio-mechanical alignment, the duality of tensegrity, & intro to somatics & kinesiology
- Energetic Anatomy; Kundalini, Chakras, Nadis, Bhandas, Prana & Vayus
- Sanskrit terms in asana
- Guiding, spotting, aligning, and adjusting students, providing variations and modifications, and usage of various props
- Designing a balanced class ~ Principles of sequencing
- Creating creative class sequences, flows, choreography, and theming
- Therapeutic applications of Yoga, Restorative Yoga & teaching to special populations (children, seniors, prenatal, and more)
- Getting started as a Yoga instructor ~ the business of Yoga
- Teaching Practicum (student teaching)

Whether you’re a beginner or want to deepen your already existing practice, or you want to immerse yourself in the yoga lifestyle, or want to teach, or teach with more valuable tools if you’re already teaching, this program is for you. Our approach is multi-disciplinary and we draw from a diverse range of Yoga traditions. We encourage inquiry based learning that allows you to fine-tune your interests and capabilities, and develop your own voice and personal style. Previous experience in participating in Yoga classes or a personal practice is recommended, but not required. Yoga meets our body where it is. By cultivating a heart-centered, compassionate practice we move deeper within towards our optimal potential.
