How to Register
Our courses are set up like a university curriculum
so that you choose when and where you begin.
In our HMT and AMT programs you can begin at
the start of any module of that program and
take classes or modules sequentially until your
program is complete. Or, in any program you
can take any course/module on its own as a workshop
and then apply it later for credit in a certification
program.
To register, simply call or visit us to obtain
a Student Information Sheet. Upon submission
of this form along with the minimum deposit
required for the program of your choice, you
will be eligible to begin classes. For program
deposit amounts, see Programs and Fees at a
Glance (link to page 2, Programs and fees at
a Glance).
Our classes fill quickly, so be sure to ensure
your participation by pre-registering. Call
our office during business hours to confirm
space availability if you haven’t pre-registered.
Upon acceptance, a contract will be made with
your start dates and financial agreements.
Books and other supplies are not part of your
tuition. Please check when you enroll for a
list of required materials. Students must supply
their own linens for each bodywork class. For
students taking individual modules, be sure
to be clear on what homework is required in
order to receive a certification for that class.
Financial Aid and Payment
Options Available
The World School has both financial
aid and student loan programs! Payment
for classes or programs can also be made in
full, or in agreed upon monthly payments. For
a finance fee, a monthly payment plan can be
tailored to your needs. Deposits are required
to hold a space in a class or program at least
three weeks in advance of a start date; $100
of this deposit is non-refundable. To upgrade
a contract from one program to another there
is a $75 fee. The fee for a change of contract
within a program is $150.
Admission Requirements
Most of our classes require no previous experience
except proof of high school graduation, equivalent
GED certification, or your most recent educational
diplomas. Any other prerequisites are mentioned
with individual classes.
Veterans
Men and women who have served our armed forces
are also in need of healing and the healing
touch. We welcome Veterans to attend our programs
and classes. The federal government often pays
these career programs for you.
International Students and
the Student and Exchange Visitor Program
We are truly a "world school", teaching
age old principles. We have trained students
from all over the world. If English is your
second language, we require a simple Ability
to be Trained Exam. We also welcome local students
whose second language is English. We offer programs
to students who do not speak English if they
have a tutor attending with them.
The World School has been approved by
the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)
of the U.S. Government. We can assist you in
obtaining an I-20, the Certificate of Eligibility
of Nonimmigrant Student Status.
The Student Tuition Recovery
Fund
The Student Tuition Recovery Fund protects all
students, including but not limited to, school
closures, breach of agreements or failure to
pay refunds.
Credit for Previous Studies
We give credit for your previous studies where
appropriate. Please provide transcripts and
any other training and be prepared to demonstrate
any skills in a practical evaluation. The fee
for this one hour evaluation session is $75.
In the case of our Anatomy and Physiology class,
you may be requested to pass the exam for that
module and pay $75 to take this exam. You may
take up to two times to pass this test (we have
different versions) if you do not pass it the
first time. If you require study, personal coaching
is available for $50 per hour by a faculty advisor.
You may review a class you have already taken
for 60% of the current tuition. This is of course
based on space availability and instructor approval.
Continuing Education
All courses at the World School may be taken
as individual workshops. This provides graduates
of the World School and other massage and healing
arts institutions a wide array of extraordinary
courses for ongoing enhancement of bodywork
competencies.
Continuing Education Units
(C.E.U.’s)
Some institutions require employees to update
their education and achieve credit units annually.
All of our classes provide credit hours as follows:
10 hours of instruction = 10 credit hours. For
University credits: 10 hours of instruction
= 1 credit unit (or semester hour).
Student Communications
Students are invited to communicate their special
needs and concerns. To support you with this,
a Student Coordinator follows your studies and
is there for you from your Orientation until
your final Completion meeting. Further, at the
end of each class, students are encouraged to
complete evaluations of the faculty and courses.
All evaluations are carefully reviewed as part
of the World School’s commitment to open communication
and to extraordinary quality of instruction.
We also offer bi-annual graduation ceremonies,
a school store for books and useful products,
and counseling for concerns, complaints and
questions.
